Learn how to make colors work for you. In this interactive workshop, you’ll experiment with color relationships; how they play, blend and compete, to discover simple, powerful strategies for choosing fabrics and placing colors in your quilts.

Karen Middleton is a fiber artist, quilter, and educator based in Richmond, Virginia. A U.S. Army veteran, she holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in Textiles from North Carolina State University. She is pursuing an MFA in Studio Art at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

Her work has been exhibited nationally, including at The Delaplaine Arts Center in Frederick, MD, the Maria V. Howard Center at the Imperial Centre in Rocky Mount, NC, Joseph Gross Gallery at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ, theBLANC Gallery, New York City, NY, and the National Veterans Creative Arts Competition, sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The Virginia Quilt Museum offers refunds for program and event registrations up until 2 weeks before the program. If you are unable to attend a program that you have paid for, you are welcome to transfer your registration to a friend or family member on your own. Please alert VQM to the change in registration by emailing info@vaquiltmuseum.org. If you would like to request a refund prior to the cutoff deadline please email info@vaquiltmuseum.org and include the name and date of the program you would like a refund for.
