This workshop will guide you through the basics of using plants to create prints on cloth! We will experiment with natural dyes using local plants and flowers to create stunning patterns through bundle dyeing. You will leave with a beautiful one-of-a-kind cotton tea towel, infused with the essence of nature. Cotton squares will also be provided for experimentation, perfect for future sewing projects. Feel free to bring your favorite leaves and flowers for printing! All fabric will be provided and prepared for dyeing prior to the workshop.

Alex Foster (they/she) lives in the Roanoke valley, surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains. Foster works with natural dyes and printing with plants on fabric. They are inspired by seasons, colors, shapes, and most of all-- plants! Foster has been turning their fabric creations into quilts, soft sculptures, and installations.
