The Neff Quilt Pattern is made based on a quilt in the collection of the Virginia Quilt Museum. The quilt is inscribed with "Property of Elizabeth Neff, 1843". The fabrics of Elizabeth’s quilt indicate it was made between 1830-35. Elizabeth was 10 years old in 1843. Therefore, the hypothesis is that Elizabeth was given the quilt. This can be supported in that “Property of” is inscribed. The pattern is a variation of Birds in Flight.
