Susan J Lapham is a contemporary quilter. She is known for her highly detailed and visually complex work. Her work tells stories of joy through line, movement, and color and takes inspiration from eclectic architecture, complex machinery and outlandish arrangements. Lapham’s quilts demonstrate how traditional methods can take on infinite forms through the cutting and rearranging of small pieces of fabric into sewn compositions. This collection represents her playfulness and illustrates a lively dance between sparkling movement and steady geometry. We hope you, the viewer, will be able to find your own sense of play as you engage with Lapham’s quilts.
